Evelyn J. Rischette, 85, Town of Arland, Barron County, Wis., died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Cumberland Extended Care.
She was born April 9, 1921, in the Town of Arland, the daughter of Edward and Julia (Severson) Thuftin. She grew up in the Town of Arland and attended Liberty School.
On Oct. 7, 1941, she married Joseph Rischette at Almena. They farmed in Barron County all of their lives, retiring in 1982.
Evelyn loved to garden, crochet, sew and bake. She was also fond of her flowers. She enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Almena.
Surviving are daughters, Marlene (John) Nelson of Prairie Farm, Mary Ann (Wesley) Sindelar of Almena and Susan (Ronald) Moen of Prairie Farm; a son, Thomas of Barron; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald Thuftin of Almena and Alvin Thuftin of Minneapolis, Minn.; and a sister, Berdean Curtis of Barron.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Aug. 12, 1985; four brothers; a sister; and a set of twins.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 9, from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Father David Lusson officiating, with burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Almena.
Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Thursday from Rausch-Rockman Funeral Chapel, Barron, and an hour prior to services at the church Friday.
