      Rasmus Hansson Holdhus was also known as Rasmus Hansson Store Linga. He was born in 1713 at Hordaland.¹ He married Marta Hansdatter Gjøen, daughter of Hans Engelson Gjøen and Marta Jakobsdatter Valen, in 1735.¹ He died in 1752 at Store Linga, Strandebarm, Hordaland.¹

     Marta Hansdatter Gjøen was born in 1716 at Gjøn, Fusa, Hordaland.¹ She married Rasmus Hansson Holdhus, son of Hans Jansson Mentz Nedre Bolstad and Elisabeth Pedersdatter Store Linga, in 1735.¹ Her husband, Rasmus Hansson, died in 1752 at Store Linga, Strandebarm, Hordaland.¹ She died in 1758.¹

      Knut Johannesen Høysæter was also known as Knut Jonsen Sævild.¹ He was born in 1718 at Os, Hordaland.² He married Cicelle Nielsdatter Langeland, daughter of Nils Pedersson Stålby and Anna Pedersdatter Tveit, on 2 July 1747 at Samnanger sogn, Os prestegjeld, Hordaland.¹ He died in 1796 at Samnanger, Hordaland.²

     Christen Jacobsen Spæren was born in March 1718 at Spæren, Øvre Eiker, Buskerud.^4,2 He was christened on 30 March 1718 at Eiker prestegjeld, Buskerud.^4,2 An intent to marry (trolovelse) was registered for Christen Jacobsen Spæren and Siri Jonsdatter Horne on 8 October 1747 at Eiker prestegjeld, Buskerud.¹ He married Siri Jonsdatter Horne, daughter of Jon Syversen Horne and Eli Børgesdatter Loe, on 5 November 1747 at Eiker prestegjeld, Buskerud.^5,1

     Magdela Engelsdatter Eikeland was born circa 1720. She married Hans Hansen Utskot, son of Hans Johannesen Utskot and Anna Torgilsdatter Gjøen, on 4 July 1739 at Fusa sogn, Os prestegjeld, Hordaland.¹ She died in 1801 at Samnanger, Hordaland.²

     Thomas Matisen was born circa 1720 at Muonio, Lappland.² He married Aleth Andersdatter on 27 December 1742 at Alta sogn, Alta, Finnmark.² He died in 1765.²

     Anne Polsdatter Holdhus married Arne Johannesson Steintveit, son of Johannes Arnesen Steintveit and Brita Jonsdatter Steintveit, on 17 June 1743 at Samnanger sogn, Os prestegjeld, Hordaland.^1,2

     Gjertrud Mikkelsdatter Langøydegarden was born in 1721 at Sør-Aurdal, Oppland.¹ She married Arne Olsen Fønhus, son of Ole Arnesen Fønhus and Marthe Tidemannsdatter, on 18 October 1751 at Aurdal prestegjeld, Oppland.² She died in 1801 at Aurdal prestegjeld, Oppland.¹

     Martha Nielsdatter was born in January 1722 at Tveit, Samnanger, Hordaland.¹ She was christened on 8 February 1722 at Samnanger sogn, Os prestegjeld, Hordaland.¹ She was confirmed on 5 April 1739.² She married Johannes Arnesen Skulstad, son of Arne Mortenson Skulstad and Anna Johannesdatter Reistad, on 23 June 1748 at Samnanger, Hordaland.³

      John Levorson Goplerud also went by the name of Kølabrænderen fra Soknedalen (The Charcoal burner from Soknedalen).¹ He was born in 1724 at Haukedalen, Lunder sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud.¹ He married Ingeborg Andersdatter Finsand, daughter of Anders Arnessen Fønhus and Marit Olsdatter Haugsrud, on 19 September 1751 at Lunder sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud.¹

The Charcoal Burner's Legacy - A History of the Goplerud Family by Sanford K. Fosholt records the decendants of John Levorson Goplerud's through eleven generations. It contains basic information on more than 10,000 individiuals, too many to put on this page, but those most significant to me have been included. I'm indebted to this book for waking my interest in genealogy, and it brings to mind an old quote from a different field "only because we were standing on the shoulders of giants."

     Ingeborg Andersdatter Finsand was born in 1727 at Ådal sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud.¹ She married John Levorson Goplerud, son of Levor Johnson Haukedalen and Ragnhild Torkelsdatter Snodalen, on 19 September 1751 at Lunder sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud.¹

     She appeared on the 1801 Census at Goplerud, Sør-Aurdal, Oppland, with her husband and a maid, as: Ingebor Andersdatter, Wife, age 74, first marriage (Begge i første ægteskab).(See household and details).² She died in 1804 at Goplerud, Sør-Aurdal, Oppland.¹

     Siri Jonsdatter Horne was born in 1727 at Eiker prestegjeld, Buskerud.^3,4 An intent to marry (trolovelse) was registered for Siri Jonsdatter Horne and Christen Jacobsen Spæren on 8 October 1747 at Eiker prestegjeld, Buskerud.¹ She married Christen Jacobsen Spæren, son of Jacob Aasulson and Berethe Nielsdatter, on 5 November 1747 at Eiker prestegjeld, Buskerud.^3,1

     She appeared on the 1765 Census at Spæren, Øvre Eiker, Buskerud, with her husband, daughter and two servants, as: Sigri Johnsdatter, wife (hustru).(See household and details).⁵ Her husband, Christen, died in February 1773 at Spæren søndre, Øvre Eiker, Buskerud.^3,6
