     With the possible exception of Osvald, none of Ole and Karine's ten children lived to see their majority. In 1910 Olga died at age 1, with no cause of death registered. In 1914 Ole died of encephalitis at age 19. Then, between 1915 and 1921, seven of Ole and Karine's eight remaining children died from tuberculosis.      Ivar Leonard Tuftin was born on 19 December 1907 at Hønengaten, Hønefoss, Ringerike, Buskerud.^2,3 He was christened on 23 February 1908 at Hønengaten, Hønefoss, Ringerike, Buskerud.^2,3

     He appeared on the 1910 Census at Ullerålsgate 19, Hønefoss, Ringerike, Buskerud, with his parents, as: Ivar Leonard Gulbrandsen, child (Barn), born 19.12.1907 in Haugsbygden.(See household and details).⁴ He died on 6 October 1918 at Bærum sykehus, Bærum, Akershus, from tetanus after an accident with a harvester (Blodforgiftn. efter ulykke med en træskemaskine / Stivkrampe), at age 10.^5,2 He was buried on 12 October 1918 at Østre Bærum sogn, Bærum, Akershus.²
