     Kristi Thorbjørnsdatter was born on 27 September 1838 at Jarland, Samnanger, Hordaland.¹ She was christened on 7 October 1838 at Samnanger kyrkje, Samnanger sogn, Os prestegjeld, Hordaland.¹ She married Engel Knudsen, son of Knut Knutsson Tysse and Anna Bårdsdatter Tveit, on 8 July 1866 at Os, Hordaland.² She died on 14 September 1897 at Tveit, Samnanger, Hordaland, of cancer (mavekræft), at age 58.³ She was buried on 21 September 1897 at Samnanger sogn, Os prestegjeld, Hordaland.³ Funeral rites were held on 14 November 1897.³

     Randine Halvorsdatter was born on 13 January 1840 at Haslumeie, østre Bærum, Akershus.² She was christened on 1 March 1840 at Haslum kirke, Østre Bærum sogn, Bærum, Akershus. Witnesses were Inger Christens Haslum, Anne Matthea Sørens. Haslum, Erik Haslum, Nils Gunders Haslum and Erik ?? Haslum.² She and Martin Eriksen had a child, Gundborg Martinsdatter, out of wedlock on 24 July 1864.^3,4

     Lise Olsdatter was born on 29 August 1840 at Hønefoss, Ringerike, Buskerud.¹ She was christened on 8 November 1840 at Haug kirke, Ringerike, Buskerud.¹ She was confirmed on 22 June 1856 at Norderhov, Buskerud.² She and Christen Christensen had a child, Andrine Olava Christensdatter, out of wedlock on 17 August 1859.³ She married Andreas Jørgensen, son of Jørgen Jonsen and Mari Olsdatter, on 2 April 1865 at Hønefoss kirke, Hønefoss, Ringerike, Buskerud.⁴ Her married name was Lise Olsdatter Jørgensen.⁵

     Lasse Nilsson Høysæter was born on 19 July 1841 at Høysæter, Samnanger, Hordaland.^1,2 He was christened on 15 August 1841 at Samnanger, Hordaland.² He was confirmed in 1858 at Samnanger, Hordaland, with good grades for both knowledge and behaviour (kunnskap god, oppførsel god).³

      He married Brita Johannesdatter Grønsdalsmyri, daughter of Johannes Ivarson Steinsland and Anna Knutsdatter Langeland, on 17 May 1867 at Os prestegjeld, Hordaland.⁵

     Marie Auguste Ruschke was born illegitimate on 18 August 1842 at Werda, Landkreis Rothenburg, Schlesien.¹ She was christened on 28 August 1842 at Daubitz, Schlesien.¹ Her mother married unknown Engler after 1842.² She married Friedrich Ernst Atzler, son of Friedrich August Atzler and Johanne Christiane Weyrauch, on 8 September 1861 at Daubitz, Schlesien.³ Her husband, Friedrich Ernst, died on 15 May 1877 at Rietschen, Landkreis Rothenburg, Schlesien.⁴ Not found in Daubitz burial records before 1919.⁵

      Johannes Olaus Aas was also known as Olaus Aas.² Johannes Olaus Aas was also known as Olaus Johnsen.³ He was born on 29 November 1842 at Brødre-Aas, Øvre Eiker, Buskerud.^1,4 He was christened on 1 January 1843 at Haug kirke, Øvre Eiker, Buskerud.⁴

     Bernard Wilhelmsen was born illegitimate on 1 March 1844 at Elvebakken, Alta, Alta, Finnmark.^1,2 He was the twin of Alexander Wilhelmsen.^1,3,4,2 He died on 10 March 1844 at Elvebakken, Alta, Alta, Finnmark. He was weak from birth, and died of an unknown illness, at age 9 days.⁵ He was buried on 6 April 1844 at Alta sogn, Alta, Finnmark.⁵

     Alexander Wilhelmsen was born illegitimate on 1 March 1844 at Elvebakken, Alta, Alta, Finnmark. He was the twin of Bernard Wilhelmsen.^1,2,3,4 He died on 15 September 1844 at Elvebakken, Alta, Alta, Finnmark, of an undefined illness, at age 6 months and 14 days.³ He was buried on 6 October 1844 at Alta sogn, Alta, Finnmark.³

     Regine Olava Aas was born on 5 September 1844 at Aas, Øvre Eiker, Buskerud.^2,1 She was christened on 20 October 1844 at Haug kirke, Øvre Eiker, Buskerud.¹

     Annette Olsdatter was born in 1846 at Hønefoss, Ringerike, Buskerud.^2,1 She was christened on 27 September 1846 at Norderhov, Buskerud.¹

     Ole Severson was born in 1847.¹ He married Inga Severson in 1878 at Wisconsin.¹

     He appeared on the US census of 3 February 1920 at Arland, Barron, Wisconsin, with his wife in his son's household, as: Ole Severson, father of head, 73, immigrated 1870, naturalized citizen 1889, born in Norway, Retired farmer.(See households and details).¹

     Gulbrand Knudsen was born on 2 April 1847 at Bergsundeie, Ådal, Buskerud.^3,4 He was christened on 18 July 1847 at Viker sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud.^5,4

     He appeared on the 1865 Census at Odda, Ådal, Buskerud, with his parents, as: Gulbrand Knudsen, their son (deres Søn), aged 19.(See household and details).⁶ He married Gudbjør Andersdatter, daughter of Anders Andersen and Kari Nilsdatter, on 17 July 1868 at Gran, Oppland. Thorsten Pedersen and Erik Veggersen served as witnesses.⁷ He and Gudbjør Andersdatter lived at the time of their marriage at Kammerudeiet, Gran sogn, Gran, Oppland.⁷ Their son Christian is registered as legitimate in the christening record. Although the birth date is given as two months before the wedding, the christening was two months after it.⁸

     He appeared on the 1875 Census at Bergsundbråten, Ådal, Buskerud, with his wife and children, as: Guldbrand Knudsen Odda, head of household (Husfader), Crofter and shoemaker (Husmand Skomager), 1849, Hval Aadalen.(See household and details).⁹ Gulbrand Tuftin and John Nilsen Hvitmyr served as witness at the wedding of Edvard Knutsen and Thea Johnsdatter Hvitmyr on 15 November 1882 at Ytre Ådal (Hval) sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud.^10,5

     He appeared on the 1900 Census at Berjekastet under Hval, Ådal sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud, with his wife and children, as: Gulbrand Tuftin, Laborer and Shoe maker (Arbeider Skomager), born 1847.(See household and details).¹ He and Gudbjør Andersdatter, with their children Carl Tuftin and Thora Tuftin, emigrated on 5 October 1907 from Ytre Ådal (Hval) sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud, to Wisconsin, USA, on the ship Montebello leaving from Oslo.³ They travelled on the S.S. Lake Manitoba, leaving Liverpool on the 9th of October, and arriving in Quebec on the 22nd. From there they went by train, via Montreal and Barron to Almena where they were met by Andrew.      He appeared on the US census of 23 April 1910 at Arland, Barron, Wisconsin, with his wife and children, next door to eldest son, as: Gilbert Knutson, head of household, 63, married 43 years, born in Norway, immigrated 1907, naturalization papers filed, speaks Norwegian, rented farm.(See household and details).¹³ Gulbrand Tuftin and Gudbjør Andersdatter were photographed with members of their family at their 50th anniversary.¹⁴

     He appeared on the 1920 Census at Arland, Barron, Wisconsin, with his wife, as: Gulbrand Tuftin, head of household, owns home freely, 73, immigrated 1907, alien, born in Norway, doesn't speak English, shoe maker on own account.(See whole household).¹⁵ He and Gudbjør Andersdatter both died in 1927 and share a headstone at Arland Independent Cemetery, Arland, Barron, Wisconsin.¹⁶

      Gudbjør Andersdatter was also known as Gulbjør Tuftin.² She was born on 25 June 1847 at Haagenstadeje, Jevnaker sogn, Jevnaker, Oppland.^2,3,1 She was christened on 25 July 1847 at Jevnaker sogn, Jevnaker, Oppland.¹

     She appeared on the 1865 Census at Værkestuen, Gran sogn, Gran, Oppland, with her parents and brothers, as: Gudbjør Andersdatter, their Daughter (deres Datter), age 19, born in Gran Parish.(See household and details).⁴

      She married Gulbrand Tuftin, son of Knut Torstensen Odda and Inger Torine Gulbrandsdatter, on 17 July 1868 at Gran, Oppland.      Ole Bjørnsen was born on 26 January 1848 at Lunder sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud.^1,2 He and Thea Kristiansdatter had a child, Johan August Olsen, out of wedlock on 18 May 1873.³ He married Karen Aslaksdatter on 12 January 1875 at Lunder sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud.^1,2

     Anna Magdalena Eriksdotter was born on 17 July 1849 at Åsele, Åsele, Västerbottens län.^1,2 She married Ole Tufting, son of Torsten Knutsen Tuftin and Mari Paulsdatter, on 11 October 1874 at Fjällsjö församling, Västernorrlands län.¹ She and Ole Tufting were registered as arrived in Tåsjö from Fjällsjö in 1879.¹

     She appeared on the 1880 Census at Hoting, Tåsjö församling, Västernorrlands län, with her family, as: Anna Magdalena Eriksdotter, born 1849, mother.(See household and details).³

     Torsten Knutsen Storbråten was born on 30 November 1849 at Bergsundeie, Ådal, Buskerud.^2,3 He was christened on 12 May 1850 at Viker kirke, Viker sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud.^2,3

     He appeared on the 1865 Census at Odda, Ådal, Buskerud, with his parents, as: Torsten Knudsen, their son (deres Søn), aged 16.(See household and details).⁴ He married Gunhild Maria Hansdatter, daughter of Hans Olsen Langbråten and Siri Gulbrandsdatter, on 27 December 1869 at Sør-Aurdal prestegjeld, Oppland.^5,6

Some time after 1900 the family moved to a plot on South Strømmen land where Torsten raised the necessary buildings himself. A log cabin with two rooms and a small cellar underneath and a log barn with room for two cows, a shed, a storehouse and a small pigsty. They had a single field of 1.2 acres (5 da). The place was called Storbråten which also became the family's name. The buildings were torn down during the war.^7,8

     Thea Kristiansdatter was born on 17 January 1851 at Myra (u Vig), Enebakk, Akershus.¹ She was christened on 23 February 1851 at Enebakk, Akershus.¹ Thea and Johan and their parents were registered as moved from Enebakk, Akershus, to til Aker on 29 April 1864.²

     She appeared on the 1865 Census at Vålerenga, Oslo, with her parents, as: Thea Kristiansdatter, their child(deres Barn), 15, Enebak.(See household and details).³ She was confirmed on 8 April 1866 at Østre Aker, Oslo.⁴ She and Ole Bjørnsen had a child, Johan August Olsen, out of wedlock on 18 May 1873.⁵ She died on 24 June 1873 at Tuftin, Lunder sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud, at age 22.⁶ She was buried on 27 July 1873 at Lunder sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud.⁶

     Maren Otilie Olsdatter was born on 4 September 1851 at Utvedteie, Norderhov, Buskerud.¹ She married Torsten Ellingsen, son of Elling Torstensen and Marie Gulbrandsdatter, on 26 January 1880 at Norderhov, Buskerud.¹ Anne Marie Torstensdatter is born the day after her parents wedding. I find this a bit dubious and it even looks like the day was changed from 26 to 27 in the baptism record.²

     She appeared on the 1900 Census at Eriksrud, østre, Lunner, Oppland, with her husband and children, as: Maren Otilie Olsdatter, wife of head (hm), crofter's wife (Husmandskone), born 1851, Haug, Ringerike.(See household and details).³

     She appeared on the 1910 Census at Torst. Ellingsens gård, Jevnaker, Jevnaker, Oppland, with her husband and one adult son, as: Maren Otilie Olsdatter, born 04.09.1851 Ringerike, wife of head (hm), laborers wife (arbeiderkone).(See household and details).⁴

      Gunhild Maria Hansdatter was also known as Maria Hansdatter.³ She was born in 1852 at Sør-Aurdal, Oppland.^3,4 She married Torsten Knutsen Storbråten, son of Knut Torstensen Odda and Inger Torine Gulbrandsdatter, on 27 December 1869 at Sør-Aurdal prestegjeld, Oppland.^3,5

     She appeared on the 1900 Census at Søre Langbråten, Sør-Aurdal, Oppland, with her husband, children and a pauper, as: Maria Hansdatter, wife to hoh (Hm), married (g), Crofter's wife (HusmandKone), born 1851 in Sør-Aurdal.(See household and details).³

Some time after 1900 the family moved to a plot on South Strømmen land where Torsten raised the necessary buildings himself. A log cabin with two rooms and a small cellar underneath and a log barn with room for two cows, a shed, a storehouse and a small pigsty. They had a single field of 1.2 acres (5 da). The place was called Storbråten which also became the family's name. The buildings were torn down during the war.^4,6

     She appeared on the 1910 Census at Storbråten, Sør-Aurdal, Oppland, with her husband and four children, as: Marie Storbråten, born 30.05.1852, Søndre Aurdal, crofter's wife (Husmandskone).(See household and details).⁷ Her husband, Torsten, died in 1923 at Sør-Aurdal prestegjeld, Oppland.⁴ She died in 1933 at Sør-Aurdal prestegjeld, Oppland.⁴

     Johan Alfred Olsen was born in 1852 at Svanskog socken, Värmland.¹ He married Mari Ellingsdatter, daughter of Elling Torstensen and Maria Olsdatter, on 20 April 1902 at Norderhov, Norderhov, Buskerud.¹

     He appeared on the 1910 Census at Ullerålsgate 15, Hønefoss, Ringerike, Buskerud, with his wife, as: Johan Alfred Olsen, 03.04.1852, Sverige, head of household, Ditchdigger (Grøftegraver).(See household and details).²

     Hans Andersen was born on 8 August 1852 at Gran, Oppland.¹ He was christened on 22 August 1852 at Gran, Oppland.¹

     He appeared on the 1865 Census at Værkestuen, Gran sogn, Gran, Oppland, with his parents and siblings, as: Hans Andersen, their Son (deres Søn), unmarried, age 13, born in Gran Parish.(See household and details).² He married Olina Halvorsdatter Somdalseie, daughter of Halvor Thomassen and Pernille Christensdatter, on 11 December 1873 at Gran, Oppland.³

     Johan Knudsen Odda was born on 19 March 1853 at Ådal, Buskerud.^2,3,4 He was christened on 19 June 1853 at Viker kirke, Viker sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud. Witnesses were Anders Torstensen.^2,5

     He appeared on the 1865 Census at Odda, Ådal, Buskerud, with his parents, as: Johan Knudsen, their son (deres Søn), aged 13.(See household and details).⁴

     He appeared on the 1875 Census at Odda, Ådal, Buskerud, with his parents, as: Johan Knudsen Odda, son (Søn), unmarried (ug), 1853, Hval Aadalen.(See household and details).⁶ He married Julie Margrethe Andersdatter Somdalsbråten on 1 May 1876 at Ådal sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud. Knut Torstensen Odda and Paul Knudson served as witnesses.^2,7 His wife, Julie Margrethe, died from an embolism (Emboli) on 6 March 1879 at Bergsundeie, Ådal, Buskerud.^2,8 He married Ingeborg Andreasdatter on 11 November 1884 at Ytre Ådal (Hval) sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud.^9,2

     He appeared on the 1900 Census at Odda, Ådal, Buskerud, with his wife, children and widowed father, as: Johan Odda, Shoemaker Lumberjack (Skomager Tømmh.) 1853.(See household and details).³

     He appeared on the 1910 Census at Odda vestre, Ådal, Buskerud, with his wife and ten children, as: Johan Odda, born 19.03.1853, Aadalen, head of household (hf), Lumberjack farming (Tømmerhugger Jordbrukende husmand).(See household and details).¹⁰ His wife, Ingeborg, died from gastric bleeding (maveblødning) on 1 March 1932 at Ådal, Buskerud.¹¹ He died on 14 September 1935 at Ådal, Buskerud, from Atherosclerosis (Åreforkalkning), at age 82.¹²
