     Kristian Thorsen was born in 1872 at Haug, Ringerike, Buskerud.¹ Kristian Thorsen's first marriage, to Charlotte Margrethe Bursch, was dissolved 29 March 1906 due to her incurable mental illness.¹ He married Karine Hvitmyr, daughter of Edvard Knutsen Hvitmyr and Thea Johnsdatter Hvitmyr, on 20 May 1906 at Norderhov, Norderhov, Buskerud.¹

     Ole Torstensen was born on 15 August 1872 at Søre Langbråten, Sør-Aurdal, Oppland.¹ He was christened on 27 September 1872 at Hedal sogn, Sør-Aurdal prestegjeld, Oppland.¹ He married Karine Olsdatter on 1 January 1895 at Begnadalen sogn, Sør-Aurdal prestegjeld, Oppland.²

      Johan Christiansen was also known as John.² He was born in October 1872 at Lier, Buskerud.^1,2 He married Martine Martinsdatter, daughter of Martin Eriksen and Randine Halvorsdatter, on 18 November 1894 at Østre Bærum sogn, Bærum, Akershus.¹

     He appeared on the 1900 Census at Maridalsveien 39, Oslo, Oslo, with his wife and children, as: Johan Christiansen, head of household, born in 72 in Tranby sogn, driver at the mechanical workshop (Kjørekarl ved mek Verksted).(See household and details).³

      He and Martine Christiansen, with their children Ragnar Maurits Christiansen, Kitty Margrethe Christiansen and Jenny Marie Christiansen, emigrated on 14 July 1905 from Oslo, Oslo, destination given as Canada, travelling on the ship Montebello. The tickets cost 402 kr. total. Johan's intention was to become a farmer.⁴ They travelled on the ship Lake Erie leaving Liverpool, England on July 18th and arriving in Quebec July 27th. Intended destination is given as Three Rivers, Quebec.⁵ They lived in Lethbridge from 1906 until Martine's death in 1937 according to her obituary. At that time they lived at 411 3rd St. South which is also their address in the 1911 census. John was still a Lethbridge resident when he died in 1957.⁶

      Karl Arnesen was also known as Karl Arnesen Møllerudbraaten.² He was born in 1873 at Brandval, Solør, Hedmark.²

     Karl Arnesen and Olava Gulbrandsdatter Tuftin were listed on the Norwegian Census of 1900 living at Vågård, Hønefoss, Ringerike, Buskerud, . Olava as Gulbrandsen Tufte part of the main household as unmarried servant/cook (Tj. Kokkepige) and Karl as an unmarried lodger and railroad signalman (Jernbanearbeider (Banevokter)).³ He married Olava Gulbrandsdatter Tuftin, daughter of Gulbrand Tuftin and Gudbjør Andersdatter, on 3 November 1901 at Hønefoss, Ringerike, Buskerud.^2,1

     Johan August Olsen was listed on the Norwegian Census of 1900 living at Follum arbeiderbolig, Ringerike, Buskerud, as a worker at the pulp mill (arbeider ved træsliberi).³ He married Gunhild Henriksen, daughter of Henrik Elllingsen and Margit Olsen, on 8 March 1902 at Norderhov, Buskerud.⁴

      Lars Martinsen was also known as Lars Eriksen.² He was born on 16 September 1876 at Høvik Glassverk, Høvik, Bærum, Akershus.¹ He was christened on 19 November 1876 at Asker, Akershus.¹ He married Alma Ovidia Johansen at Akershus.³

     He appeared on the 1900 Census at Øvre Eidsvoll, Høvik Glassverk, Høvik, Bærum, Akershus, with his parents, his wife and his brother, as: Lars Martinsen.(See household and details).³

     Karoline Johansdatter Odda was born on 7 November 1876 at Odda, Ådal, Buskerud.² She was christened on 25 February 1877 at Ådal, Buskerud. Witnesses were Olava Knudsdatter.² Her mother died from an embolism (Emboli) on 6 March 1879 at Bergsundeie, Ådal, Buskerud.^3,4

     Karoline Johansdatter Odda was listed on the Norwegian Census of 1900 living at Engebråten, Ådal, Buskerud, as a servant (Tjener) in the household of her employer.⁵ It might be Karoline Johansdatter Odda who is listed on the Norwegian Census of 1910 living at Randsborg, Jevnaker, Oppland, as Karoline Johansen, born 27.10.1876, Aadalen, maid (tjenestepike). There is another Karoline born to a Johan in Aadalen in 1876 and the actual date is wrong for both.⁶

     Sofie Katrine Pettersen was born on 1 March 1877 at Elvebakken, Alta, Alta, Finnmark.² She was christened on 8 July 1877 at Alta sogn, Alta, Finnmark.³ She married Henrik Petter Johannessen, son of Johannes Andersen and Elen Henriksdatter, on 17 December 1897 at Alta sogn, Alta, Finnmark.⁴

     She appeared on the 1900 Census at Altengårdskoven, Alta, Finnmark, with her husband and daughters, as: Soffi Katrine Pettersen, Housewife (Husmoder), born 1877, ethnicity and language Finnish.(See household and details).⁵

     She appeared on the 1900 Census at Fagernes, Ådal, Buskerud, temporarily working as a servant for her brother, as: Inger Torstensdatter Langbraaten, temporary resident, usually living in Søndre Aurdal, unmarried (ug), servant doing housework (Tjenestepige (Huslige gjøremaal)), born 1877 in Søndre Aurdal.(See household and details).³ She and her sister Sigrid Torstensdatter emigrated on 19 April 1901 from Valdres, Oppland, destination given as North Dakota.⁴ They travelled on the S.S.
